TERROR STRIKES INDIA YET AGAIN

Terror strikes in different parts of our country seem to be the order of the day. After bombing Jaipur, Ahemdabad, Banglore and Delhi around September, the terrorists recently took on Mumbai.

This attack on Mumbai has been the first of its kind ever done on India. The brave commandos who fought for the people couldn’t help but admit that the terrorists were very well trained and they fought like any soldier from the Indian army would in an enemy country.

All said and done, this tragedy has every Indian questioning the Government’s effectiveness. With terror strikes taking place in some or the other part of the country having become a routine of sorts, the question that has come to the fore is “Is a country like India, which is touted as an emerging superpower not capable of securing a safe life for its citizens?”

As always, when the damage has been done, our politicians (who appeared to be in hibernation when the battle with the terrorists was on) have now come into the scene as some sort of knight in shining armour. They are doing their best to appease the masses, but this time no one is in the mood to listen to them. Just to ensure that they do not lose their vote banks politicians are ready to do just about anything. They don’t give a damn to what the people of the families of the deceased are going through. A case in point is Mr. Narendra Modi offering Rs1 Crore to the wife of the late Maharashtra ATS Chief, Hemant Karkare. How could he even think of doing such a disgusting thing? The sheer fact that he feels that he can compensate for the life of such a brave soul with 1 Crore rupees shows his insensitivity towards the entire episode. Yet another disturbing fact is that it took 12 hrs for our leaders to summon the army and the commandos. With such leadership, the country is bound to become vulnerable to such heinous episodes. This wrath however is not directed towards any particular political leader, rather the entire political community.

Today, in this hour of grief and sorrow, we all are Mumbaikars supporting each other and hoping that this terror attack is the last for India.
